Educated at HAS Green Academy in Den Bosch, the Netherlands, Steven worked for many years as account and communications manager at Bureau Horticom/Adequaat, Delphy and, from 2005 until 2025 at vegetable breeding company Rijk Zwaan.
Steven is as editor-in-chief responsible for the content and articles in the magazine, supported by an editorial advisory board.
Former director of Naktuinbouw John van Ruiten is currently mainly active as a horticultural crop material consultant. He is the chairman of the NVBT (Botanic Gardens in The Netherlands) and is the publisher of Prophyta.
Prophyta works with an Editorial Advisory Board that provides editorial advice and helps determine the magazine’s direction. The members of the board have many years of experience in the world of seeds and breeding.
